Ikigai is a Japanese concept which translates to “a reason for being”. Knowing your Ikigai is empowering; it allows you to find your path to fulfilment and gives guidance in times of aimlessness.
What is it?
Ikigai is found at the intersection of what you love, what you are good at, what the world needs, and what you can be paid for. These overlapping circles lead to your passion, profession, mission, and vocation. Suppose your life is lacking in one area. In that case, you miss out on your potential and the opportunity to lead a happier life.
After understanding this concept, I thought to write a blog on how I see my life when I reach 60.
So, if the time fast forwards and I see I have lived the next 40 years of my life, I find myself in my 60s. So, on some sunny day sitting on the working table in the studying room of my house, seeing the neem tree out from the window at the right corner of the room. I will have the satisfaction of living the life I wanted and reaching the point where I am. That satisfaction would be a collective result of my efforts towards my life, starting from the short term goals, which were the stepping stones to reach the point where I am. And suppose I had respect for myself that would simply mean I had an entire worth life. In that case, I don't want fame I just see me as Person who is in his '60s and have seen all faces of life worked and led all sort of People and had an impact over others who work along or under him. I know I might think that I could have done the same things differently, but again we are Human. If I had not gone through this cycle, I would not have understood the Process of how to not commit the same mistake and not have tried to find a better version of myself. So, at this moment, I would be writing a blog in my 60's about my life. Which would have the starting from the moment I joined B tech. I understood I wanted to do the master's not because of getting a high Pay or getting the status in society. I see it as more of an opportunity to connect with people globally and move out from my comfort zone. After achieving the experience and knowledge, I would then work for my startup on Data Science and Ml, which I would slowly develop into a company. Then, I would love to come back to India. Till now, I would have entered into my late 20's or starting 30's. Since I always wanted to be an instructor, so I would even work upon starting my institute where I will teach students the latest technology as I believe if you can explain someone something, you can implement it in a better way than travelling through my 30's working on my company as well as classes. In my free time, I would also work on my blog pages, sharing my life experiences and understanding myself in a better way than the moment I will enter my 40's I will start another company in motion graphics and animation, which would work for starting from school students to Company Professional. By this time, I will be in my late 40's. Now since I achieved something, I would love to go on tours and new places to make videos and write about them on my blog. I will be doing this maybe till I reach my 55 or 56. Then, I would love to get back to farms that we have in our native place and work on them with modern technology and again writing on them on my blog. Now going through all this again, I take you to the same chair where I was sitting at starting in my working room, seeing through the window at the right corner of the room to the neem tree and writing the blog my life.
I feel I found my Ikigai, the meaning for which I am living my life, That derives me daily to accomplish my passion. if you have not got your Ikigai to check this Japanese concept
